Is your New Music Monday Spotify playlist just not cutting it? Sound Space Sessions is a new live music night in Streatham, and THE night to discover the best underground, up-and-coming music artists that south London has to offer.

Enjoy an eclectic line up of artists, all of whom have emerged from south London’s own Grounded Sounds’ music programmes. The evening will close with a curated open mic - a platform for emerging music artists to perform live, and an opportunity for you to stumble across the next wave of musical talent.

Want to jump on that open mic? Apply here.

The event will include The Sensory Room. Facilitated by SENSORIA, this is a space to relax, unwind and be as you need at the Sound Space Sessions. Equipped with plushies, blankets, ear defenders and more.

Line-Up

Eleazar

South London native Eleazar encompasses a blend of R&B, Neo-Soul and Jazz. Under the riffs and runs, she paints a picture with her words and melodies conveying her emotions and experiences. Song-writing from the age of 9, she pens her life through the lens of a poet and the mind of a lover, illustrating her highs and lows as a person who has always been an outlander.

Töpia

Töpia, a soulful UK singer-songwriter, began her musical journey as a band frontwoman at thirteen, captivating audiences across her home counties. Drawing inspiration from neo-soul luminaries like Mereba and India Arie, she seamlessly blends elements from her time in rock and punk bands into her sound. With the finesse of a seasoned spoken word artist, Töpia offers a refreshing musical interpretation.

The Sensory Room

The Sensory Room (by SENSORIA) is a space to relax, unwind and be as you need at the Sound Space Sessions. Designed for rest and recuperation, and equipped with plushies, blankets, ear defenders and more, it is a specially curated space for you to nap, stim, read and create your own sensory utopia. Hosted by accessible arts facilitator Saskia Horton - they also offer guided meditations, somatic body offerings, sound healing and qi gong to regulate the body as needed in the space, as well as 1-1 physical and emotional support.

About SENSORIA

Sensoria is an arts access initiative co-creating and curating spaces for disabled, chronically ill and neurodiverse people to educate, express and exchange with each other through movement and music. Founded in 2023 by Saskia Horton, they use their values of Slowness, Sustainability and De-growth to build infrastructures of care and radical access into the arts. They do this by co-creating sensory safe events and experiences, curating accessible arts programmes, doing advocacy and disability justice work as well as delivering bespoke access coordination support to teams, artists, organisations and audiences.
