Risk Is This Lab
Risk Is This brings together three emerging artists from different disciplines to participate in a week-long lab session. The programme hopes to support artists who have been told that they are too "risky" to support or programme by providing them with the space to do exactly that - come up with "risky" ideas!

Afia Abusham is a British-Sudanese Actress & Creative who uses poetry and music to further amplify her storytelling. She is interested in how art connects communities across the globe and capturing those moments that stir you to do more.
Afia completed her Acting training at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, NYC.
Credits include: Shoreditch Muse, Estella (Theatre6), Uncle Vanya (Harold Pinter Theatre), Anansi the Spider (Unicorn Theatre), Babylon Beyond Borders (Bush Theatre), Apple Tree House (CBBC), Macbeth (Classical Theatre of Harlem).
Deborah Shorindè is a Nigerian artist and writer, raised in South London and Southern Ontario. Her work is based heavily in sound and story. Exploring the intersections between materiality, intimacy and diaspora, the narratives Deborah sculpts are often defined by a fiction that feels both surreal and true. Reflecting the complex landscape of black contemporary love, her work is an investigation into the future of tenderness.
Héctor Manchego is a Venezuelan multidisciplinary artist based in London. His work interrogates themes of the Latin American diaspora, oppressive systemic structures, and experiences of the LGBTQ+ community. In recent years, he has taken part in No Borders, a political theatre program at The Royal Court Theatre; Starting Blocks program at the Camden's People Theatre, and the Migration Matters Festival 2023.
